Alaska Heli Skiing

Heli Ski Safety

Our professional guide staff has extensive experience in mountain safety and emergency medical training.  Each guide carries a backpack stocked with light rescue gear and a first aid kit. The radio dispatcher tracks the ski day and should emergency arise is able to relay appropriate equipment and support.  Should evacuation become necessary you will be financially responsible for costs incurred.  Please be sure your medical insurance covers this type of rescue.

All skiers and boarders are given instruction in the use of avalanche tranceivers and search techniques before they travel into the mountains with Valdez Heli-Camps.  We strongly encourage you to become familiar with beacons, probes, shovels, rescue procedures and basic mountain safety before you venture into the back country with anyone.
