Snowcat Skiing Back-Up
heli-cat2Inevitably, there is a day where we have to wait for the sun to break through.  But with Valdez Heli-Camps, all heli-packages come with guaranteed snowcat support — at no extra charge.

When the helicopters can’t fly, you’ll climb aboard our heated, comfortable snowcats and hit some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the Chugach. It’s just outside our back door. So while guests at other operations are stuck in their hotel rooms waiting out the weather (watching the HBO movie you’ve seen already), you’ll be out there playing in the powder! Our Snowcat terrain ranges in elevation from 500' to 4200' above sea level with the longest single runs producing over 3100 vertical feet of skiing.

The terrain also offers some treed areas for good visibility on the stormiest low light days as well. A normal snowcat ski day will produce 12-14,000 feet of skiing and for heliski package clients utilizing their guaranteed seat in the snowcats on these days we debit the vertical account just 9,000 feet for this service to you.

Plus, if the weather clears, our helicopters will land right next to the cats you and get you heliskiing within minutes. No other operation can promise you this. So make go get your turns in while guests at other operations are playing cards in their rooms.
