| Vertical Foot Guarantee |
It's simple. We charge you per vertical foot that you ski. We only put the maximum number of people we can fly in our facility at a time, so you always have a seat in the helicopter, and no matter how much time you spend in the air, you only pay for the vertical you ski. At other heli ski operations, you pay for the time you spend in the helicopter. This means that if you fly farther to a "secret stash" you pay more, and ski the same amount or less because you've spent more time flying than skiing. We don’t charge for the time you spend in the helicopter, we charge you by the vertical foot you actually ski. That way, you don’t have to pay extra to find the best snow conditions or try out new terrain. Here’s how it works: Each package comes with a specific vertical foot guarantee, and is priced accordingly. If weather conditions keep you from reaching the projected (guaranteed) amount of vertical, your account will be credited $25 for every 1,000 vertical feet below the guarantee. You can use this credit on future trips or a Vertical Foot Punch Card. If your group exceeds the guaranteed amount, you will be charged for the extra vertical at the same rate ($25/1,000 vertical feet). Based on over 10 years experience with this pricing system, seldom do extra vertical charges or credits exceed $500. The amount of vertical achieved in a week depends on conditions and the group’s desired experience. Please note that whenever skiing is available, even if you choose not to participate, your account will be charged for the amount of vertical achieved by your group. If weather forces us to use the snowcat for a whole day, you’ll probably rack up 12,000 to 14,000 vertical feet — but only 9,000 will be applied against your trip balance. And if you end up heliskiing that day when the weather breaks, you’ll be charged for actual vertical acheived for that day (Heli + Cat Vertical). Our groups will typically achieve 80,000 feet during the week accessing our steep, technical slopes. Riders who have a yen for more open powder skiing on slopes with a high degree of security may easily ski more than 100,000 vertical feet in a week. This is based on a 10-year average of 20,000 feet/day for four flying days out of the six-day package. This formula has proven to give our guests a very realistic expectation of the total amount they will be spend on their stay with us. |
